Dock Hands secure vessels safely, coordinate their arrival and departure, oversee dock operations with a checklist, and welcome holders with courtesy. As a dock hand, you liaise between customers and the team of managers in the marina. You're responsible for the overall efficient operation of the docks and facility.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the marina in related duties such as securing boats to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (power, water, and telephone), black water pump out, waste disposal, and facility sanitation.
- Provides the highest level of customer and guest services, expedites any requests from vessels including transport of guests and baggage to and from dockside, delivery of provisions and packages.
- Routinely operates, motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment.
- Carries out routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards for all marina-related operations; ensures the recognized standards are maintained and that quality and delivery commitments are met.
- Assists refueling vessels when required at the fuel dock, ensuring safe fueling procedures.
- Demonstrates safe work habits at all times, including the proper care and use of all tools, equipment, vehicles, and hazardous materials, and observes all established health and safety regulations.
- Provides safe disposal of all waste material.
- Maintains awareness of safety issues and reports them immediately to your manager.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and corporate goals.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Some knowledge of marina operations or willingness to be trained.
- Effective communicator who can collaborate with teammates and guests.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Must have a flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software.
