Key Responsibilities:
Safe Vessel Operation:
Operate and navigate Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) and larger range calibration/source craft in a safe and effective manner.
Ensure compliance with all USCG regulations and maritime laws during vessel operations.
Security Patrol and Surveillance:
Conduct security patrols in designated harbor and coastal areas to detect and deter potential security threats.
Utilize surveillance equipment and maintain a vigilant watch for any suspicious activities.
Emergency Response:
Execute emergency response procedures in the event of accidents, security incidents, or other emergencies.
Coordinate with relevant authorities and agencies to ensure a swift and effective response.
Passenger and Crew Safety:
Ensure the safety of passengers and crew members on board by implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
Provide safety briefings and instructions to passengers as needed.
Navigation and Route Planning:
Plan and execute vessel routes, taking into consideration weather conditions, navigational hazards, and other relevant factors.
Utilize navigation instruments and technology to navigate vessels safely.
Vessel Maintenance:
Oversee and participate in routine maintenance activities for both OUPV and larger vessels to ensure their operational readiness.
Coordinate with maintenance staff and engineers for any necessary repairs.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay informed about changes in maritime regulations and ensure that vessels are in compliance with all relevant rules and requirements.
Maintain accurate records of licenses, inspections, and certifications.
Qualifications:
· United States Coast Guard (USCG) license as an Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) and USCG Master (50-Ton) license with a near coastal rating.
· Desired Education and Experience: Five (5) years of experience in maritime operations.
· Required Education and Experience: Three (3) years of experience in maritime operations.
Skills and Abilities:
· Strong navigation and seamanship skills.
· Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
· Proficient in emergency response procedures.
· Knowledge of maritime security protocols.
· Familiarity with navigation instruments and technology.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
