The Mercury / Yamaha Certified Marine Technician is responsible for the diagnoses, repair, and service of outboard engines in accordance with manufacturer specifications. This includes repairs, warranty work, engine services, and other general boating repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repair of Mercury (or Yamaha) engines and transmissions.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on engines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Mounting and rigging of all major outboard brands.
- Install and repair volt systems.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Inventory control of materials used for the job.
- Maintain tools and supplies in safe operating conditions.
- Handle any customer inquiries promptly & courteously.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements.
- Provide labor and time estimates for repairs.
- Inspect and test vessels for necessary adjustments.
Requirements
- Completion of Mercury (or Yamaha) Marine Engine Certification program.
- Previous experience as a marine technician working with outboard engines.
- Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment.
- Knowledge of the factory warranty process.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Deadline and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Not objectionable to working outside.

Position Type
